creamy layer must go

When our constitution was under construction in the guidance of veteran scholars of that period, our respected leaders of that period pondered over the matter of reservation for three years and concluded that socially backward class people needed privileged treatment to bring them at par with mainstream of the country. The purpose was to help those who were very poor and could not afford lead an honorable life in the society. They were never worried of affluent class of people. They never imagined that rich people called as creamy layer also needed special treatment. And if at all rich also needed preference then they could have given the same facility and benefits to all caste people and hence reservation could have become meaningless and futile. Obviously all types of quota or reservation are needed only to bridge the gap or narrow the distance between the rich and the poor people, between the developed and undeveloped, between the dry and the cream layer.Keeping in mind this goal they provided reservation for backward castes enumerated and defined in our constitution as Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe. The then quota was meant for 10 years only.It is unfortunate that our greedy and non-performing political leaders continued to increase the time for reservation facility to SC/ST and it continues even after almost 60 years of making of the constitution.None of the leaders accept the truth that reservation could not uplift the status of the SC/ST people called as backward class. To add fuel to fire our corrupt leaders used this tool of reservation to enrich their own vote banks and accumulate their wealth but never and never worked in real to promote the SC/ST people, to raise the standard of life of really deprived class of people. Financial assistance given to these backward class men mostly absorbed in beaurocratic gang of officers and political workers.During last 60 years the number of caste enumerated and defined in the constitution has rather gone up .Our leaders have added OBC and going to add Muslims .Sometimes they talk of quotas for woman and the other time they talk of quota for Muslims. Some caste or other will continue to demand quota for their caste and they elect their caste representative for this purpose. Days are not far when our politicians will reserve the seats more than 100 just as businessmen have to pay more than 100 percent of earning if they are 100 percent honest. I am unable to understand why our leaders are inclined to give benefits of reservation meant for poor to rich also .And if SC/ST rich men need privileged treatment , why not so called forward caste poor and even rich need the same treatment. A man born in forward caste family is cursed by the society only due to his caste for which he is not at all at fault. Forward caste is deprived of his genuine share of social wealth only because he belongs to upper caste. Rich men in SC/ST class may avail benefits under Quota but poor man in forward caste cannot. Why?Why our leaders do not learn to honour and respect the spirit of the constitution and the views of the Apex court. Our leaders must discard vote bank politics and create an atmosphere conducive for justice for all, equality before the constitution irrespective of the caste. Kindly do not create caste conflict and social disharmony. Social justice means help to poor and poverty scale should not be different for different castes. Caste should not make curse for some and boon for some other. Financial help must be given to those who are poor and fortunately We Indians are culturally helpful and always keep sympathy in our heart that is weak in the society. But our leaders do not seem to be Indians. Politicians promise to help poor/weak/minority class but in fact befool them and in the name of welfare of weaker class they earn for themselves only .
